The Family Fund is aimed at employees and students with children or dependents in need of care. The fund can be used to apply for a proportionate refinancing of care costs incurred due to absences on business or study-related matters (funding line 1 & 2). Likewise, additional travel expenses incurred due to taking a child and, if applicable, a caretaker along on a business trip (funding line 3) can be claimed. Students with children can receive tickets for free childcare hours in the backup service (funding line 4). International students (from non-EU countries) with children can receive one-time or short-term support in acute crisis situations (funding line 5).
The Family Fund includes five funding lines:
- Care fund for students with child(ren) or dependents in need of care.
- Care fund for employees with child(ren) or dependents in need of care
- Reiko-Kind: subsidy of travel expenses for child and caregiver
- Ticket fund backup service for students with child(ren)
