Department 91 German as a Foreign Language

The Department German as a Foreign Language offers the following German courses for international students and scholars:

- General German language courses
- Preparatory German courses
- Specific German language courses

The department conducts the German Language Examination for University Admission (Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang, DSH) and is a licensed test centre for the examination of telc C1 Hochschule and TestDaF.
 
 

Department 92 International Students

Department 92 "International Students & Global Responsibility" is divided into the four subject areas "Counselling, Admission and Enrolment", "Studienstart International", "Counselling for international students" and "Global Responsibility".

We advise and support prospective international students, undergraduates and doctoral students as well as short-term students. Department 92 also coordinates the academic exchange of the UzK with universities in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the MENA region as well as the cooperation with the international liaison offices of the UzK in Beijing, Delhi, Cairo, and Accra.
 
 

Department 93 International Mobility

Department 93 "International Mobility" (as a part of the Division ‘International Affairs’) is the central contact point for all students, graduates and scientists of the University of Cologne who wish to study, work or conduct research abroad.

We support and advise all students, graduates and researchers regarding the planning, application, financing and preparation of their stays abroad. We counsel students of the university partnerships and support them before, during their stay abroad and after their return.

We offer information events, workshops and detailed individual counselling appointments.

With regard to a coherent and transparent international mobility framework for all Cologne students and graduates, we act as an indispensable central unit for the faculties.

In addition the department is responsible for coordinating the programmes „ERASMUS+“ „Cologne Summer Schools“ and the international alumni network „KölnAlumni WELTWEIT“.
